It was in 1984 when our founder, Agenor S. Castagna, started his activities by opening a lumber mill in the city of Içara, in the southern region of the country, in the state of Santa Catarina. As time went by, noticing the movement of beekeepers around him, he understood the need to manufacture bee boxes to meet the demand of the producers and contribute to the local economy. Two years later, in 1986, with his passion for bees already formed in his heart, Mr. Agenor set up his first apiary. Agenor installed his first apiary of his own, thus making beekeeping the family's main source of income. At this time, he begins to buy and gather the production of several beekeepers of the region to resell in the most promising market of that time, the state of São Paulo.
Realizing the success of marketing honey in the Southeast region of the country, Mr. Agenor decided to bring to Santa Catarina his own brand, founding in 1989 the company Minamel, whose name was inspired in his wife Luiza Mina Castagna.

Seeking to be the most important honey brand in the country, starting in the 2000s we have been conquering more and more space in the national and international market. It was in 2001 that something very important happened: we became the pioneers in bulk honey exports. With the constant commercial expansion of the company, taking our products to more than 20 Brazilian states and several continents, we are proud of the way in which we are recognized by our suppliers, partners, collaborators, and customers. Fruit of a history that today continues to be written by its second generation, with an innovative look and a lot of perspective for the future.
